Marina Nears Opening to Sea at Puerto Los Cabos

The new marina at Puerto Los Cabos is probably Baja California’s biggest construction project in a generation. It will not only become the sparkling centerpiece of a luxurious resort community, it will further expand Los Cabos’ reputation and appeal as a world-class recreation, vacation and residential destination resort.

This ambitious dream is becoming an exciting reality as the marina is reaching its final depth, the first phase of slips are in and floating, and power and water lines to those slips are being installed. Just as important, the massive jetties to shelter the new harbor are at full length, their bases to the ocean floor are finished, and its huge capstones are being put in place. It is only a matter of months, perhaps weeks, until the second marina in the area is opened to the Sea of Cortez, ushering in a new era for Los Cabos.

Another essential piece of the Puerto Los Cabos lifestyle has also begun to rise, a new road and bridge near the historic Estuary of San Jose. The new route will provide a modern connection between Puerto Los Cabos and the airport as well as the dining, shopping and galleries of San Jose del Cabo.

With irrigation systems and grass planting proceeding at full speed on the resort’s two signature golf courses, and tile roofs appearing among the seaside hills marking the pace of new home construction, the sense of excitement is certainly building at Puerto Los Cabos.
